  • Interview

Teachers from five schools the Denver region explain why they love teaching Facing History and Ourselves. Facing History has revitalized their teaching with instructional strategies and resources to develop students' critical thinking skills, and has enriched their classrooms in language arts and literature, civics, social studies and history. In their Facing History classes history becomes more real and more connected to the students, who feel empowered as they develop a critical insight into who they are and what role they play in society.

Featured are Terry Fostvedt, Centaurus High School; Kirsten Aarestad, Vantage Point High School; Tom Thorpe, Graland Country Day School; Pam Richer, Manual High School; and Mark Delgado, Abraham Lincoln High School.
