Renowned journalist and filmmaker Bill Moyers talksabout the importance of teaching the Nuremberg trials to high schooland college students. desc
Transcript:
"I think that the teaching of the Nuremberg trials should be a required course in every high school and in every college in this country, not only for the sake of learning about Nuremberg and about the war, but for what we learn as we listen to that testimony and read the record, about standards of good and evil. I happen to believe that there are clear, definitive standards of good and evil in the world. If you read Nuremberg, if you listen to those voices of the Nazis testifying there, if you read the criticisms of the Nuremberg trial, you cannot help but come to the conclusion that unless the world at least honors the idea of objective good and objective evil, we’re lost in this murky world of relativism where you can always find some justification for doing what somebody else did, but putting a spin on it that makes us feel more comfortable doing it than others did.”
