This film looks at the resurgence of antisemitism since 2000, especially in the Middle East, by examining its historical roots in Christian theology and its transplantation from Europe to Arab and Islamic countries during the 20th century. Using artwork, cartoons and video footage-- including political speeches, television programs, and interviews with academics, journalists and others&emdash;host Judy Woodruff explores the intertwining of antisemitism and anti-Israel political views. The significance of the Arab-Israeli conflict, works of propaganda such as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and the antisemitic depiction of Jews in Arab media are highlighted. The last part of the program discusses anitsemitism in Europe since 2000, raising questions of Muslim identity and the influence of Middle Eastern media and politics.
