Plan Your Visit to Washington, D.C.

D.C. Public Library

February 17 - June 17, 2011

The Choosing to Participate exhibition is on display at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C.! This multimedia exhibition has won nationwide praise for encouraging hundreds of thousands of young people, educators, and community members to consider their civic responsibilities and to inspire them to make a difference.

During the next few months, Facing History will partner with leading corporate, civic, cultural and educational organizations to engage the community in a conversation about how to build a stronger, more inclusive community. There are a variety ways to get involved including guided tours, volunteer opportunities, resources for educators and community members, and an event series.

For more information or to learn how you can get involved, please contact:

WorldStrides Partnership

Facing History and Ourselves is pleased to announce a new partnership with WorldStrides, the nation's largest educational travel organization. The Choosing to Participate exhibition will be a stop on WorldStrides' "Discover D.C. Program," in which students gain a deeper understanding of American history, the consequences of choices, and of their role in our continuing American story. Facing History has always believed that no classroom or school exisits in isolation. Developing programs with WorldStrides allows us to offer new interactive experiences that support our goal of going beyond classroom walls to engage students in the study of history and democracy. Click here for more information about this exciting opportunity or contact WorldStrides at 800-468-5899.
