"I’m Still Here" Airs on Sundance Channel

April 1, 2006

The MTV documentary I'm Still Here: Real Diaries of Young People in the Holocaust airs on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 pm on the Sundance Channel. Based on diaries from Alexandra Zapruder's acclaimed book, Salvaged Pages: Young Writers' Diaries of the Holocaust, the documentary uses the words of young people who kept diaries to expose the ordeal of life under the Nazi regime and at the same time offers a testimonial to the power of the written word in creating a lasting legacy. The film was directed by Lauren Lazin, written by Alexandra Zapruder, and features an introduction by actor Zach Braff.

MTV produced I'm Still Here as part of its "Fight for Your Rights: Take a Stand Against Discrimination Campaign." Facing History and Ourselves has developed a study guide for the film, which can be downloaded from our website, to equip teachers to use the documentary in their classroom. Printed versions will be available from Facing History at the end of May.

We encourage teachers to tape this airing of I'm Still Here for use in their classrooms. Tapings of the film can be used for educational purposes for up to one year following the airing.
