Thoughtful Resources for the New Year

January 5, 2012

The Facing History and Ourselves website and Choosing to Participate initiative were highlighted as helpful resources for the New Year by the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE). Also on the list are initiatives spearheaded by organizations like the United Nations and UNICEF.

Facing History is excited to bring Choosing to Participate, its traveling exhibition that encourages young people and adults to think deeply about the importance of participating in a democratic society, to Chicago, Illinois, in August. Most recently on view in Memphis, Tennessee, the exhibition explores civic choices—the decisions people make about themselves and others in their community, nation, and world. Choosing to Participate will be on view August 27 through November 11 at the Harold Washington Public Library.
