Veronica Dahlberg

Executive Director, HOLA

Veronica Isabel Dahlberg understands the daunting issues Latinos can face, from being victims of stereotyping and anti-immigration prejudice and negative portrayals in the media.

As the executive director of HOLA, Hispanas Organizadas de Lake y Ashtabula, she advocates for Northeast Ohio’s Latino community every day. Initially the goal was to foster good relations between the Hispanic and Jewish communities; now HOLA also hosts Spanish-language tax clinics, holds “Information Fairs” about healthcare, housing, legal matters, and employment, and supports Latino families.

As editor of the bilingual HOLA Journal, Veronica also reports on cultural traditions, Latinos of interest, immigration reform, and opportunities for education. She is an Upstander because she advocates for her community regardless of discriminatory barriers.

“She is an Upstander because she advocates for her community regardless of discriminatory barriers.”
