Lindsay Hyde

Newton, Massachusetts
United States

Lindsay Hyde

The daughter of a single mother whose strength and courage was an inspiration, Lindsay founded Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) to foster high aspirations among low-income, at-risk girls and help them develop the skills they need to succeed. She was a Harvard freshman at the time.

College undergraduate women serve as mentors, and the curriculum highlights the accomplishments of strong women throughout history. By Lindsay’s graduation, her program was being requested in schools across Boston. At age 22, she incorporated SWSG as a not-for-profit agency. Today it engages over 400 girls and inspires 120 college women to volunteer their time, energy, and talent to be mentors.
