Koyen Shah & Cammie Dubie

Directors, Aspire Program
Hathaway Brown teachers Cammy Dubie and Koyen Shah saw firsthand the value of a well-resourced, independent school education, but knew it was beyond reach for many Cleveland area students. They decided to match high-achieving girls from under-resourced schools with college students considering a career in urban education. The resulting ASPIRE summer program offers rigorous learning, leadership training, and increased opportunities for some of our city’s most talented middle school girls, and the ASPIRE network continues to support them throughout high school.
Hathaway Brown’s ASPIRE program has deeply touched the lives of 280 young women to date, as well as the college students who work with them. ASPIRE’s success is a direct result of the vision, dedication, and love of two women who saw a better future for these girls and strove to make a difference.
